Spaghetti Bolognese

Today I forgot to order my kids their lunch from the tuckshop….

It’s ok, I know, I’m a terrible mum. Or at least in my head I am, mumma guilt is hitting hard!

You’re probably thinking, how on earth do you forget your kid’s lunch?! To be honest, I don’t even know… What I do know is that in the midst of the weekly juggle, ordering their lunch completely slipped my mind. read more…

Banana Choc Smoothie

This recipe was the 1st place winner in Jessie Reimer’s wholefood recipe challenge!! We found out we won this morning and my son was literally dancing around the house with excitement. He wanted to stay home from school to ‘celebrate.’ Um, nice try mate!

I was talking to a mum the other day whose kids have Up & Go’s for breakfast! I’m not going to go all judgy mcjudge face, but…… Up & Go have somehow earned themselves a 5 star health rating, um WTF?! This makes people believe they are giving their children a healthy option but this is SO not the case!

My choc banana smoothie recipe tastes like a yummy treat and is quick and easy to make. If my 8 year old can do it, so can you!

If you agree that the health star rating is a crock, join in the movement and sign the petition here.

Date, Chia & Coconut Balls

A huge thank you to Rennae from Bourke St Baby for sharing this super yummy recipe with us!

The health benefits of Dates are numerous, not to mention Chia Seeds and Coconut. So, Rennae has thrown them all together to make a yummy snack when craving something sweet but nutritious.

Dates are packed full of vitamins and minerals, promote good bone health, boost the nervous system, aid in digestion and are a great energy booster, making them the perfect sugar choice for kids. Chia Seeds are rich in fibre and protein aswell as Omega-3 Fatty acids for heart health and of course the all-powerful coconut gives us anti-microbial effects in its fatty acid which ‘kills disease-causing bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses’ according to mybody+soul.com.au. read more…

“Since embarking on the essential oil journey a few months ago they have become part of our everyday life.  We love to use them to help in getting a wonderful nights sleep; all levels of pain (no more going to the chemist!); cleaning products for the home; personal care eg shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, skin care; pet care; diffused to make home smell fresh and lovely; keeping colds and flu away; flavourings, yummm!; or just to smell nice.

Too many uses to list but can’t recommend them highly enough especially when the lovely Jess is there to help get you started with all the right advice.  The oils are ethically sourced from around the world and 100% pure so there are no nasty additives and we can guarantee that once you start being an essential oil user there will be no turning back!”
